SERVE INNER-CITY KIDS IN NEED
WILDWOOD RANCH IN HOWELL
Wildwood Ranch is a multi-faceted youth development organization that is owned and operated by the Detroit Rescue Mission Ministries. Our primary goal is to expose the children and youth that we serve during the summer to opportunities and experiences that will enhance their lives, broaden their horizons and expand their future opportunities.
BELOW ARE SOME GROUP WORK PROJECTS:
- Leaf raking / leaf blowing
- Spreading mulch
- Reclaim an area from brush overgrowth (bring if you can: chain saws, weed whips, and leaf blowers)
- Exterior painting
- Walking trail maintenance
WORK PROJECT FOR VOLUNTEERS WITH THESE SPECIAL SKILLS:
- Small engine repair
- Auto or diesel mechanics

SERVE THE LOCAL HOMELESS
This event serves our local homeless population in Livingston County. This is a huge annual event, so we can use as many volunteers as we can get! We are look for volunteers to donate their time between Nov. 26th-30th. Volunteer as a group to decorate the lobby, wrap gifts for families in need on Nov. 17th, and help serve at the event with baking, serving stations, ushering, and filling many other needs.
SERVE LOCAL TEENAGERS
HERO TEEN CENTER IN HARTLAND
HERO Teen Center is a facility for teens that fosters friendships through sociable activities and academic support in a safe environment.
FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 17TH OR FRIDAY, DECEMBER 1ST.
1:30-6pm. Decorate for the holidays. Decorate the facility for Christmas.
SERVE LOCAL FAMILIES WHO HAVE SUFFERED ABUSE
LACASA IN HOWELL
LACASA’s mission is to support and advocate for survivors of child abuse, domestic violence and sexual assault. They provide prevention, education and awareness to strengthen families and make our community safer.
WEEKEND HALF DAY/FULL DAY IN OCTOBER/NOVEMBER
Deep carpet and upholstery cleaning. 1-4 groups needed.
SATURDAY NOVEMBER 5TH, 10AM-1PM
Outdoor yard clean-up. 1 group needed of 8-10 people. Rakes, shovels and trimmers are needed to help with this.
INVENTORY ASSISTANCE/RETAIL HELP FOR NEW RESALE SHOP IN OCTOBER, NOVEMBER, OR DECEMBER
Hours: M,T,W & F, 10am- 2pm or 2pm-6pm,
Thur, 10-2 and 2-8, Sat 10-5 and Sun, noon-4. Volunteering for part of shift works too.

DECORATE THE SHELTER FOR CHRISTMAS
ON SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 25TH OR SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 26TH
3+ groups needed. Please indicate which date, hours 10-2. White lights are needed. Also consider donating gifts for children’s holiday party (date tba.) 3+ groups needed.
Venture is hosting a dinner with a special guest speaker on grief before the holidays arrive. This time together is aimed to bring hope, perspective, vision and community to those who have lost a loved one, helping us all find joy amidst the grief.
The dinner will take place on Friday, Nov. 3rd and we are looking for people to volunteer as greeters and food servers, as well as those willing to help set-up and tear-down the event.
SERVE AN ARABIC-SPEAKING CHURCH
HOPE ARABIC CHURCH IN STERLING HEIGHTS
Hope Arabic Church is a campus of Hope Church, a non-denominational gathering that uses the arabic language to reach across the cultural divide and minister to people of Middle Eastern descent. Venture is sending volunteers to serve as greeters and hand out snacks at their Sunday church gathering.

Leave Venture at 10:30am and return by 3:00pm.
SERVE THE POOR
CARRIAGE TOWN MINISTRIES IN FLINT
Far more than “just” a shelter, CTM provides vital life training and education. Their clients are given a Personal Success Plan (PSP) that helps them establish not just goals, but also a plan for achieving those goals. Every person we serve has a unique story and unique set of needs. Their prayer is for great change to take place in the hearts and lives of all who come to CTM.
OCTOBER 28TH, 9AM-12:00PM
Fall leaf raking as a group and small maintenance jobs in need of electricians, plumbers, dry-wallers.
NOVEMBER 11TH AND 18TH, 5-6PM
Choose one night to help feed the homeless in Flint at Carriage Town. Carriage Town provides the food to be served by your group cafeteria style. Needs 3-5 people only.

EAGLE VILLAGE IN HERSEY
From Troubled Teen Intervention Camps & Family Retreats to Adoption & Foster Care, Eagle Village is unique. Here you will find teenagers receiving necessary counseling and treatment along with leadership and life skills training, excellent education provided by the Eagle Village Lighthouse Academy and opportunities for community service to ready them for returning home or to a foster, adoptive or independent living arrangement.

Join our serve-day mission trip to Eagle Village—Serving and loving on foster kids by decorating and celebrating the Christmas season on this 1-day mission trip.
